Greetings friends! This is the first time I have sat down since
getting home from church. Sheesh! I have been cooking, cleaning, and doing the dreaded
laundry. I swear, I HATE laundry!
This will start the fifth week that hubs and
I have been clean eating and can I tell you that I LOVE it! If you don’t follow
my sister’s facebook page, you totally should. She is my inspiration and the
kick in the rear I needed. It has made a world of difference in our lives. I
meal prep every weekend for the whole week (breakfast, lunches and some
dinners) and life has gotten easier because of it. Lindsay tells me, “Fail to
prepare, Prepare to fail!”. I used to want to kick her in the teeth when she
said that (Ok, that is way more violent then I really am…all talk
people), but now I am trying to literally eat those words and it’s good stuff.
Anywho, who cares about that, right? I have gotten several emails
and comments about how I set up my Early Finisher’s Tubs so I wanted to show
you. Here is my tub for Aug/Sept. Seriously, these are one of my favorite creations. I don't consider myself too bright but man oh man have these made my laugh so much easier and my classroom so much quieter. So, here is what they look like and how I set it up. It isn't huge because let's be honest, we don't have enough space.
I show my class the activities on the carpet
whole group. Initially, we spend a lot of time talking about how to go to the tub and make
a selection, where we can sit, and how to clean up (I call that “restoring work”).
I model this and we practice it too. We go back to our seats and "practice" using the EFT.
My kids learn pretty quickly that I have
two rules for EFT. First, you must work quietly so you don’t disturb anyone.
Second, you must restore the work like you found it. My littles know that if they are
being loud, disturbing anyone, or have not restored their work, they lose their
EFT privilege. Yes, they are learning big time by doing these activities, but
if you treat it as a privilege, so will they. I promise, they WANT to do the
activities. I also stress the importance of not rushing through their work at
their seat and doing a good job or else again, no tub privileges.
For those of you who have purchased my tubs, you can grab this
rules freebie. Hopefully it will help you implement your tub expectations.
If you are new to my tubs, you can check out the bundle (which makes each tub $3 so basically you get TWO free! ) or my store for the monthly tubs.Just click the pics for more info. :)
Feel free to ask any other questions. Have a great Monday!!! Week three here I come. I'm Lovin It!
Love and virtual hugs!!
I'll admit I was a little overwhelmed when I thought about the idea of EFT's but I went ahead and purchased your Aug/Sept ones and oh my goodness they are awesome! I love, love, love that my kids are learning yet are so excited to get to "play a game" (at least that's what they think). So I went ahead and purchased the whole year! Now I have a parent who is laminating and cutting the rest of the year for me. Thank you, thank you, thank you for creating these!
ReplyDeleteDo you have the whole year bundled or do you have to buy each unit separately??
