Pep Talk Time

Happy December!!!

Elves. Santa. Hot chocolate. JESUS! Ahhh!! I am sooo excited. I am not sure who gets more excited around here, the kids or me. I think ME!!

Okay. Pep talk time. Hopefully you are like me and only have three more weeks until Christmas Break. Three whole weeks. We can do this. It’s going to be controlled chaos of the masses.  Kids will be hyped up on candy canes and peppermints, hot chocolate wasted, distracted by Christmas lights everywhere. Just the job for you...SUPER TEACHER!

Fight fire with fire people. Get yourself an Elf!  Put that guy to work.  There are websites like http://www.santasphonecalls.com/ where you can pay to have Santa call you but you can also be creative. Last year, I changed the name in my cell phone from DAD to NORTH POLE. He had his own special sleigh bells ring. I would text him the name of my squirrely friends and he would call and check on them. He would also praise the littles that were doing a great job. I would put him on speaker phone. You should have seen how BIG their eyes got.  The kids that could really read saw that the phone said NORTH POLE and told the other children. It was Ah-Maz-Ing!!

It takes work, but you can still have holiday fun and align your curriculum. This week we are using a Gingerbread Man theme. We are reading and comparing several variations of the book. It just so happens that we are supposed to be studying a fairy tale this week for ELA and guess what? GBM is a fairy tale.  Score!  Our elf isn’t coming until the following week because we will be knee deep in gingerbread this week.

Have you seen http://www.thesantatracker.com? It has its own Santa Radio, Santa’s blog, etc. You should check it out!

And also (in my best Junie B. voice), I already have an addiction to Hallmark Christmas movies.  They, for real, are the greatest thing with since hot chocolate. Haha! I would say I need a step program but by time we form a group and set meetings, December will be gone. J

Did you shop on Black Friday? This is the first year in forever that I didn’t go out. I think it’s because I have all teens now and they don’t want toys. When my kids and nieces and nephews were younger (all eleven of them) we would save so much buying for that many kids. Now, the kids want expensive stupid electronics or boring gift cards.

This week I ate my weight in holiday goodies and totally did my major shopping on Amazon.  WE also went to the movies. We saw Frozen and Catching Fire. I loved Frozen.  It’s a perfect Disney movie and makes for a fun family date. I also loved Catching Fire. I haven’t read the books and the ending floored me. I feel like I need to read the books now and go see the movie again. I was all…wait, what? What do you mean? And, it’s OVER? I feel like if I see it again, maybe the ending will be an ending. I hate a cliff hanger.  It’s like when someone says I know something but can’t tell you. That KILLS me!

So, tomorrow is Cyber Monday. In the past, I have found some pretty sweet deals. I am still on the hunt for sheets and if there was some sort of leapfrog thing on sale, I may buy it for my class. I love LF!

I think I want to paint my nails like candy canes. I know. Squirrel. Oh, I also made our Christmas cards. I always use Walgreens.com. I love it because I can design and print them in the same day. I am super happy the way they turned out (and no this isn't a paid for advertisement, lol).

Anywho, I am sure you have heard, but wanted to let you know that tomorrow and Tuesday is Teachers Pay Teachers Cyber Monday sale.  If you use the code CYBER, you can get 28% OFF everything in my store. My wish list is full and I can’t wait. I need to sit down tomorrow and figure out what I need for next semester too.  You can find my store HERE or by clicking this picture.

Also, right now you can get FREE SHIPPING when you purchase two or more shirts in my tshirt shop. Here are few new ones I posted. If you need something custom made, let me know. J I ordered myself several holiday shirts yesterday to take advantage of the free shipping. Click here to see more.

Happy Shopping friends. What was your greatest Black Friday bargain? Good luck tomorrow. Don’t be scared. They can smell fear! Hahaha!!
